How We Got Here
Our Journey
Hi, I’m Dan Malone
I’ve always believed that high quality financial information should be shared, not just reserved for the ultra-wealthy. In 2021, I quit my job with one of the leading financial services firms in the world to share my knowledge about personal finance with those who need it most.
After creating thousands of hours of free educational videos, I realised I needed to do more. I needed to reach more people, with better information, better tools and clearer next steps. That’s why I started Honest.

What We Do
What We Do
Transparency
How We Make Money
Honest is, and always will be, free to use. We’re here to save you money, not take it from you. But we’re not hiding how we keep the lights on either:
We receive a referral fee when you use our site to sign up to one of our partner’s products. Don’t worry, this will never affect our impartiality, which is not for sale.
We believe this model creates a win-win-win situation:
You: get the educational guides and tools plus information about the best financial products at no cost.
Our Partners: get to have their products expertly reviewed and put in front of their target audience.
Honest: earns revenue in a way that’s directly linked to value provided to you.
Why are we telling you this? We want to live up to our name. We believe that honesty is the best policy, especially when it comes to your money.
With Honest, there are no hidden fees, sneaky terms and conditions or ulterior motives. We lay it all out on the table, because we can stand by everything we do and how we do it.
We know you might have a bunch of questions, so we’ve preempted some of them below in order to be as transparent as possible. But first, we need to tell you about our promise.
Our Commitment
The Honest Promise
Everything on our website is created with your best interests in mind. We offer unbiased, factual and up-to-date information, to help you achieve better financial outcomes.
We encourage you to call us out if we’ve missed the mark. Do your own research and see if you can arrive at a different conclusion than us. If you do, and it’s clear that we’ve made a mistake, we’ll guarantee to update our information to reflect it.
Please email us with any questions, concerns or tips at dan@honest.ie.
